Credentials:
Victor Odhiambo holds a degree in Film Production and Animation from Multimedia University of Kenya. He also holds a Master of Arts in Digital Media and Communication from Aga Khan University (GSMC).
Brief Bio:
Victor is a documentary filmmaker with a keen interest in issues affecting the Global South. He is passionate about climate change, food security, biodiversity, conservation, energy, and sustainable development in Africa.
Currently, Victor works at Power Shift Africa, a climate and energy think tank in Africa located in Nairobi, Kenya, serving as the Digital and Multimedia Lead.
His key responsibilities and interests involve driving Africa’s climate agenda and shifting the narrative to place Africans, especially frontline communities, at the heart of the global climate discourse through storytelling.
Recently, Victor co-founded Clime Comms Africa, a communications platform that brings together communicators, journalists, content creators, and researchers to highlight key issues affecting the Global South.
The platform focuses on storytelling and content, policy advisory and advocacy, research and training.
Project Abstract:
LastShade initiative founded by Barbra, works to create awareness of climate change and environmental awareness. At the moment, LastShade initiative works with a team of 5 other young people to understand the impact of climate change on culture and traditional foods.
Through this LastShade initiative hopes not just to collect data but the unique stories and perspectives of the people. LastShade initiative is keen to collect indigenous knowledge and co-create solutions that can help the community to be more adaptable to the climate crisis.
